On 26 September 2026, artists from the UK Chinese Music Ensemble performed at the Autumn Charity Concert at Djanogly Theatre, Lakeside Arts, University of Nottingham.
Presented by the Nottingham Confucius Institute and Lakeside Arts, the concert celebrated Chinese music, culture and community, bringing together five leading UK-based Chinese musicians: Cheng Yu, Wang Xiao, Mengdie Ji, Bai Xue and Wang Wei.
The artists presented a programme featuring traditional Chinese instruments and vocal performance, including pipa, erhu, guzheng, dizi and Kunqu Opera.
Together, the musicians have performed internationally and collaborated with leading artists and organisations including Lang Lang and the London Symphony Orchestra. Their work has also featured in film and television productions including Born in China, Doctor Who and Mulan.
The concert was also held in support of Dementia Research at the University of Nottingham, with all proceeds donated to the cause.
